Republican People’s Party (CHP), Good (IYI) Party and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) held weekly group meetings in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Good Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener came to power over the economy at their party's group meeting. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made harsh criticisms of the opposition parties.
“LET THE BALLOT BOX COME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE”
CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu congratulated all women on March 8, International Women's Day and stated that women are the ones who experience the highest cost of living. Kılıçdaroğlu said, “No one can understand the drama of a mother who puts her child to bed hungry and puts a tomato paste on her son’s bread because she cannot put anything between the bread. Turkey needs to get rid of this sad picture quickly. For this, the ballot box must come. They are resisting, but there will be a day when the ballot box will come and we will change the fate of Turkey, men and women, together."
“WHO GREW?”
Drawing attention to Turkey's 11 percent growth, by asking "Who has grown? The tradesmen did not grow. The apartment worker hasn't grown, the taxi driver says 'no', the truck driver says 'what a growth, we bought diesel, we're being crushed'. The farmer says, 'Are you kidding, do you know the bills we pay for fertilizers?' Who has grown? Gang of five! These five gangs have grown by 300 percent. Unfortunately, they grew up while millions became poorer. Who is responsible for all this?" Kılıçdaroğlu added. Referring to the Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputies not appearing on television, Kılıçdaroğlu said: “Instead of them, they bring journalists who have rented out their pens to the palace. They are also defending out of spite or whatever money. Expressing opinions with money is unethical.”
“WE SHOULD COME DOWN BLACK MARKET NETWORKS”
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli gave wide coverage to Russia's attack on Ukraine. Drawing attention to the oil queues that appeared in some places, Bahçeli argued that the orchestra conductor of the virtual and ordered oil crisis was the CHP. Pointing out that profiteers have to catch up, Bahçeli said, “We have to come down the black market networks. We must make speculators regret that they were born. Whoever caused the oil queue in the markets should pay the price before the Turkish courts."
“THIS ELECTION WILL BE BETWEEN HALAL AND HARAM”
Good Party Chairperson Meral Akşener lashed out at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with harsh words and said, "That's why we are no longer fighting with a political party at the point reached today. We are now fighting evil. This struggle is now the struggle of good versus evil, right versus wrong, right versus cruel. That ballot box will come sooner or later. And when that ballot box arrives, we're going to make a choice. This election will not be an election where we will only choose the president or the deputies. This choice will be between halal and haram. This election will be between the will of the people and the tutelage of the rentier.”
