LEFT VEHICLES CLOSE THE ROADS
While work is being carried out to remove many vehicles left on the roads after the snowfall that increased its effect on Sunday afternoon in Istanbul, the vehicles stuck in Hadımköy are blocking the traffic.
Due to the vehicles left on the side of the road by the drivers along the direction of Hadımköy Street toll booths, the traffic on the two-lane road is provided from one lane. While the police teams are working to ensure the regular traffic flow, some drivers are trying to get their snow-covered vehicles out of their own place. While the vehicles on the road hinder the traffic in the direction of Edirne for a distance of approximately 1,5 kilometers, there is no disruption in the traffic flow in the direction of Ankara, except for the congestion at a few points on the road. Some drivers try to go in the opposite direction, which negatively affects traffic.
CALL FROM GOVERNOR YERLIKAYA TO VEHICLE OWNERS!
Istanbul Governor Yerlikaya demanded the removal of private vehicles in Hadımköy and Arnavutköy. Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya stated that the vehicles parked between Hadımköy Tolls and Arnavutköy due to the heavy snow should be towed as soon as possible. Governor Yerlikaya said on Twitter, “My dear fellow citizens, the trucks, lorries and private vehicles parked between Hadımköy Tolls and Arnavutköy need to be pulled immediately by their owners. If it is not towed, the vehicles will be towed by the officials.”
VEHICLES CANNOT ADVANCE ON THE LINK ROAD TO BAHÇEŞEHİR ISPARTAKULE DIRECTIONS
The teams started to work to open the Bahçeşehir-Ispartakule connection road, where 3 Isntabul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Establishment (IETT) buses and some private vehicles could not progress the previous day. Construction machines and snow plows work on the road, which was closed to traffic due to snow and a power pole was knocked down. Vehicles left on the roads due to heavy snowfall in Istanbul Hadımköy caused traffic density in the region.
