Recently, electricity bills have reached to homes and businesses. Comparing the electricity bills received in the past months with the bills coming after the hikes, the citizens rebelled against the hikes and started to take new measures against the high electricity bills. Citizens are trying to take new measures against high electricity bills, starting from the kitchen. While citizens try to be more meticulous about cooking in the oven in the kitchen, it is tried to prefer dishes that will be cooked in a shorter time for cooking in the oven. While refrigerators and freezers are in the first place in consumption, citizens do not open their doors unless necessary, while changing their places in accordance with the places where they should be positioned first in order to prevent the frequent operation of refrigerators and freezers. Citizens started to use the smaller parts actively, as the large parts used more power in the electric stoves.
THE GREATEST MEASURES IN WHITE APPLIANCES
According to researches, white appliances use an average of 61,8 percent of the electrical energy consumed at home. The refrigerator ranks first with a consumption rate of 18 percent. It is followed by television with 7,5 percent and washing machine with 7,3 percent. After white appliances, the ranking continues as lighting with 11 percent, in-kitchen use with 9 percent, hot water with 7,5 percent and heating with 7,4 percent. In addition, electrical heaters, irons, ovens and air conditioners are among the devices that consume the most electricity in homes, while citizens are trying to take new measures in devices such as these.
BULB USE DECREASED FOR SAVINGS
While citizens try to save money by using less washing machines and dishwashers, which are also at the top in electricity consumption, in addition to these, while the use of kettles increases with the effect of winter months, they started to take care to drink less tea and coffee than normal due to the excessive consumption of these products. Citizens in addition to minimal use of washing machines, try to use irons less. At the beginning of the savings items are the light bulbs used for illumination. Citizens try to save money by minimizing the use of light bulbs.
CITIZEN USES ELECTRIC SAVING DEVICES
In addition to the measures against the hikes regarding the products in their own hands, the citizens also buy and use electricity saving devices, the prices of which vary between 100 Turkish Liras (TL) and 2,000 TL. Thanks to these devices, they try to prevent the difference between the previous months and up to 3 times due to the hikes.
