One Turkish soldier was martyred on Friday in an attack by PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the governor’s office said.
The incident happened in Yuksekova district's Esendere Cobanpinar area, a statement said.
The soldier, who was heavily wounded after the terrorists detonated a roadside bomb as a military vehicle was passing by, later succumbed to his wounds at hospital, it added.
Anti-terror operations are ongoing in the region.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
