One Turkish soldier and a worker were martyred on Saturday in an attack by PKK terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the governor’s office said.
Two other soldiers were also wounded in the rocket and mortar fire attack, which took place in the province's Semdinli district, a statement said.
A large-scale operation to find the attack's perpetrators was launched in the region.
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
