After the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, the eyes and hearts of the whole of Turkey were turned to the earthquake victims in the region.

The work of volunteers in the region was followed by 85 million.

Among the volunteers, Somali Ahmet Haadi worked for days to provide some benefit by distributing aid to the earthquake victims in the region.

Haadi stated that he was impressed by what he saw on television and that he volunteered in the region.

While the volunteers of many associations in the region are trying to contribute to the work, Somalian Ahmet Haadi, who participated in the work as a volunteer of the Anatolian Youth Association in Hatay, stated that he was disturbed by his conscience after seeing the images and that he participated in the work in the region.

“WE COLLECTED ASSISTANCE, BUT I BELIEVED IT WAS NOT ENOUGH”

Stating that he has been in Turkey for about 10 years, Haadi stated that he is a student in the Mining Engineering Department at Osmangazi University.

"I spent about 10 years in Turkey. Now I am a student at Osmangazi University. While I was studying at university this year, I got to know the Anatolian Youth Association. I am a member of the association. After the earthquake, we collected donations in the province I was in, but thinking that the donations we collected were not enough, I voluntarily participated in the studies in Hatay within the body of AGD," he said.

“I CAME TO THE EARTHQUAKE REGION ON THE 6TH OR 7TH DAY OF THE EARTHQUAKE, STARTED WORK”

Underlining that he was influenced by the videos and television broadcasts about the earthquake area, Haadi stated that his conscience was not comfortable against the victimization in the region.

"As I saw the videos and television broadcasts, I wanted to help. We started to collect aid in our region, but I did not feel comfortable in conscience. On the 6th or 7th day of the earthquake, I came to the aid center in Hatay with AGD volunteers. I also participated in the studies voluntarily. As I tried to meet the needs of the earthquake survivors in Hatay and saw the smiles on the faces of the children, I felt even more peaceful", he added.

“I HAVE SEEN HUMAN'S WEAKNESS WHILE HELPING”

Stating that what he saw after reaching Hatay made him feel bad, Haadi stated that he was affected by the situation of people.

"After seeing the scenery in Hatay, I remembered my own memories. I realized that we forgot to be thankful. We worked day and night in Hatay for 5-6 days. In the works, I saw and felt the helplessness of people and how they were affected by everything. In this process, we continued our work at the AGD Hatay Branch, which is almost the only building that remained intact in Hatay," he added.
