It is observed that rents reaching exorbitant levels exceed the budgets of many families living in metropolitan cities.

"Savdes-Sen" Chairman Tuncay Cengiz called on the government to reinstate the housing aid provided to civil servants in the past.

Defense, Office and Support Services Union (SAVDES-SEN) Chairman Tuncay Cengiz said that civil servants have had a hard time making a living due to the recently increased rental prices and that the new regulation regarding this area is a condition.

Stating that the rent problem is not only experienced in metropolitan cities such as Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir, but also in all major cities and 81 provinces, Savdes-Sen Chairman Tuncay Cengiz said, "Currently, civil servant salaries are below rent wages in many cities. In many cities it was equated with rent. In many places, rent prices are now close to civil servants' wages. In order for the officers to get rid of this vortex as soon as possible; A rent aid should be made by considering 81 provinces, not just 3 big cities or metropolises."

“WE HAVE AN APPLICATION OF THIS IN THE PAST”

Reminding that there is an example of rental aid, Cengiz said, "In the 1994 crisis, just one month after the 5 April Decisions were taken, a law was enacted during the 5 April Decisions and by making a regulation to the Decree Law, our officers were given lodging compensation at that time. This practice continued until 2005. In 2005, when six zeros were removed from the money, the housing compensation lost its value, so it was abolished at that time. But that day had a reason, it was to protect civil servants from exorbitant rent increases. Now we are in the same conditions, we are in the same period. If this has been practiced in the past, this aid should be given to all civil servants, without leaving anyone out, by revitalizing the rent aid."
