As the election debates flare up, eyes turn to the Supreme Election Board (YSK).
At the end of the year, the term of office of the chairman and 4 members of the YSK expires, and it is still unclear whether their term of office will be extended before the election.
The YSK, which will play a critical role in both the presidential candidacy and the election process, is already under great pressure and burden.
THEY DO NOT WANT TO CHANE HORSES AT MIDSTREAM
While the Turkish public continues to be asked the questions of "early elections or timely elections?", the terms of office of the chairman and 4 members of the Supreme Election Board, which forms the backbone of the elections, are coming to an end.
While it is still unclear whether the term of office of the chairman and members will be extended, it has been learned that the opinion that it is risky to change horses while crossing the stream before the elections is dominant.
THEY WANT TO SEE HOW THE LAND LIES
On the other hand, it is stated that Supreme Election Board Chairman Muharrem Akkaya is uncomfortable with some situations in the institution and does not want his duty to be extended.
It is stated that since Akkaya and other members of the government know all laws and regulations well, their preference is for the extension of their terms of office.
However, it has been learned that in case the irreconcilable attitude of the chairman and members continues, the pulse is felt for the new chairman and members both in the Court of Cassation and the Council of State.
