16 DEFENDANTS WERE TRIED, 6 OF THEIR ARRESTED
In the case of 16 defendants, 6 of whom were detained, against whom a lawsuit was filed on charges of "espionage" for allegedly collecting information about foreign nationals, especially Palestinians living in Turkey, on behalf of the Israeli secret service MOSSAD, the court decided to release the detained defendants.
While 2 detained and some pending defendants and their lawyers attended the hearing at Istanbul 22nd High Criminal Court, 4 detained defendants were connected via Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS).
The detained defendants, who made their defense at the hearing, did not accept the accusations against them and demanded their release. The public prosecutor, whose opinion was asked, requested that the continuation of this state of the detained defendants be decided.

It is stated that the accused Barakat undertook the task of courier in the espionage organization in line with the instructions of Ahmad Zaid, who lives in Germany and has an Israeli passport.

15 suspects were taken into custody in the operation, 15 suspects were brought to the courthouse on October 19 after the proceedings, and after their statements were taken by the prosecutor's office, they were transferred to the Istanbul Criminal Judgeship of Peace with the request to be arrested on charges of "international espionage".
The judge on duty ordered the arrest of 15 suspects it questioned, and the arrested suspects were taken to the Maltepe Penitentiary Institution.
