It has been 3 years since the 6.5 magnitude earthquake centered in Elazig's Sivrice district.
After the earthquake in Elazig, when the wounds could not be healed, Saadet Party Elazig Provincial Presidency mobilized for the region.
Saadet Party Elazığ Provincial Chairman Abdullah Akın stated that they are mobilizing for the region and that they continue to provide stoves, food, in-kind and financial aid with many cities.
While 10 provinces were destroyed in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake, they mobilized to send aid in Elazığ, which is adjacent to the region and where the wounds of the earthquake they experienced on January 24, 2020 have just been healed.
Saadet Party Elazığ Provincial Chairman Abdullah Akın stated that they started to deliver aid to the region from the first moment of the earthquake and underlined that they continue to deliver new aids.
“WE SHIP ASSISTANCE TO REGIONS AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE”
Stating that the aid continues to the provinces affected by the earthquake, Akın stated that they delivered aid in many items, especially the stove.
"As Saadet Party Elâzığ Provincial Presidency, we have sent 100 stoves, 2,000 packages of baby diapers, 2,000 wet wipes to Kahramanmaraş, 100 stoves to Adıyaman, and bread and water to Malatya since the first day, and we continue to send them. Baskil district of Elazig is our border with Malatya province. While there was a population of 5 thousand in this district before the earthquake, now the population has increased to 50 thousand. We continue to send our aid to this district as well. I think that our citizens should prepare their needs while sending aid to the region by discussing with AFAD, our Felicity Party, our Cansuyu Association and AGD, by getting information about the necessary materials. Tent, stove is the most important need. We demand that our citizens who have tents deliver their tents to AFAD, Cansuyu or our party's provincial presidency and thus reach the region," he said.
“ELAZIĞ IS INCLUDED IN THE DISASTER REGION”
Referring to the efforts they have carried out to include the province of Elazig in the disaster area, Akın pointed out that Saadet Party has a weight.
"As Saadet Party, we prevented many harmful steps planned to be taken, and created public opinion. Our province of Elazig has been a victim since 2020. We advanced the process by creating public opinion, making a press statement, meeting with our Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arıkan and requesting that it be included in the agenda so that our city would be included in the disaster area. As Saadet, we did our part and Elazig was included in the disaster area," he added.
