Felicity (Saadet) Party Deputy Chairman Fatih Aydın made a written statement about the health workers who have recently come to the fore with their grievances regarding their personal rights. Aydın, in his statement, asked the government to keep its promises for health professionals.

“THE BURDEN OF HEALTH SYSTEM HAS BROUGHT ON THE SHOULDERS OF HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS”

Stating that the problems experienced in the health system are burdened on the shoulders of health workers, Aydın said, “Healthcare personnel, regardless of title and public-private difference, workload, work difficulties, personnel inadequacies, length of working time, impossibility of work-family harmony, difficulty in working conditions and wage-salary, they were exposed to numerous injustices such as incompetence, mobbing and victimization of violence. It was accepted that they performed an important duty that would be prohibited and restricted from retiring, resigning, asking for leave or even going home. While they are considered unique in terms of work, they have been rendered powerless in terms of salaries, wages and financial-social rights.”

"PLAIN THANKS SHOULD BE AVOIDED”

Underlining that the rises in wages did not meet expectations and that the promises made were not kept, “The government should cease to be content with merely thanking them and applauding them in a flattering manner in return for their sacrifices. Every step to be taken, taking into account the issues, demands, proposals, reports, statements and actions made by professional organizations, expressed countless times by the authorized union of health workers, ‘Sağlık-Sen’, will accelerate the attainment of the truth and the just,” Aydın added.

“HEALTH WORKERS CANNOT BE PROTECTED FROM VIOLENCE”

In his statement, Aydın emphasized that healthcare workers are victimized not only by their wages, but also by working conditions and violence. Aydın said, “The unavoidable and ever-increasing incidents of violence against healthcare workers; it requires to include health institutions and organizations in the "very dangerous workplace" class in terms of occupational health and safety. There is a 'state of incapacity' that cannot protect the lives of those who protect our health and cannot save them from being a victim of violence and anger.”

"KEEP THE GIVEN PROMISES"

Stating that the government should take urgent steps to solve the problems experienced by healthcare professionals, Aydın made the following demands at the end of his statement:

“Violence in healthcare must end. The financial rights of health workers should be increased. The increase in additional payments and additional indicators should be implemented. The monstrosity of providing health services with underemployment must end. The parliament should adopt the regulation for health workers. The government must fulfill its promises to health workers,” he added.
