Regulations regarding the personal rights of employees in public audit units cannot be made in any way. It is stated that the ministry remained silent to the calls for improvement regarding the personal rights of more than 8,000 tax inspectors and their assistants working in the Tax Inspection Board of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. The bureaucratic obstacles in the ministry were revealed when the Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati expressed that he could not make arrangements because he could not overcome the bureaucracy when asked about the improvement of the personal rights of tax inspectors in the budget negotiations.
RESIGNATIONS INCREASED WHEN NO IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE
While resignations have increased in recent years among tax inspectors whose personal rights have not been improved, it is stated that around 600 inspectors resigned and started to work in the private sector in the last 2 years. While tax inspectors reacted to the disproportion between the salaries they receive and the work they do, they make calls for the elimination of the obstacle of bureaucracy pointed out by Minister Nabati.
THE BUREAUCRACY OF THE MINISTRY IS PREVENTING
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati praised the tax inspectors' efforts to prevent terrorist financing and seek unfair tax refunds through tax evasion. Regarding the work carried out, tax inspectors also frequently brought up the demand for a regulation on personal rights. Answering the question about the personal rights of tax inspectors in the budget negotiations, the Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati drew attention to the fact that he used the words “We will do what is necessary if we can overcome our own bureaucracy and deputy ministers regarding tax inspectors,” he said.
