Stating that they put the science and art centers into service by not leaving the students alone in the summer term, and that students can apply to these centers in the province they want free of charge, Özer said that the quota for English and mathematics is full.
Expressing that Turkey has a foreign language problem and they want to overcome it, Özer said,
Our work on this has come to an end. We will change the approach to teaching. We will try the first applications of this in summer school. We will incorporate our findings into the education system. We need to deal with the English problem of the large student body.
A VILLAGE SCHOOL CAN BE OPENED ALL OVER TURKEY
Upon a question about transported education and village schools, Minister Özer noted that they started the project on Village Life Centers in Samsun and that they wanted to offer village schools to the service of citizens within the education system.
Expressing that it is possible to open village schools all over Turkey, regardless of the number of students, their first priority is kindergarten, and that they have reduced the number of opening kindergarten students from 10 to 5, Özer said that they also use buildings that cannot be used as primary schools or village schools as public education centers.
EXAM RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 30
Özer stated that they will announce the results of the High School Entrance System (LGS) Exam on 30 June and that the process continues successfully.
Initial assessments are complete. We do not have a rigorous process. As a ministry, we have never made an early statement. We will announce on the date we promised.
Minister Özer stated that they have built 16,361 new libraries in a short period of two months with the desire of all schools in the education system to have libraries, that there used to be 28 million books in schools and 3 books per student. noted their goals.
Pointing out that it is necessary to be vigilant about digital addiction, Özer said,
The constant connection of students to digital platforms in distance education during the Kovid-19 process increased their vulnerabilities related to games and digital addiction. We do not only want students to be successful academically, we want them to be healthy individuals. It is not possible for us to say 'no' to technology, but we need to use it rationally.
“TEACHER APPOINTMENT WILL BE IN 2022”
Minister Özer said that the 2022-2023 academic year will start on September 12, and registrations will start on July 1. When asked about the appointment of teachers, Özer stated that 1.2 million teachers work in the education system, and 75 percent of these teachers have been appointed in the last 19 years.
Minister Özer drew attention to the fact that there is no year without appointment, and said:
Teacher appointment will be in 2022, our work continues. Our meetings with the Minister of Treasury and Finance are over. We will share the process with the public so that appointments will be made in the first week of September. We will make 50 percent of the assignments to Istanbul. We will focus on pre-school teachers in the teachers we will appoint.
