While the existing teacher shortage continues to be filled with paid teaching, the number of teachers waiting for appointment continues to increase each year. Paid teachers, on the other hand, will come together in Ankara today for the solution of their personal rights and assignment problems and call for the solution of their problems.
While the education system becomes a blackboard, not only students but also teachers are victims of the system. While problems arose in the system as a result of incorrect practices in teacher appointments, this situation resulted in a waiting for appointment around 700 thousand teachers waiting for appointment and shortage of nearly 150 thousand teachers. The Ministry of National Education (MEB), on the other hand, continues to implement the paid teaching practice, which is a temporary solution instead of solving the existing teacher problems.
THEY WILL CALL FOR SOLUTION OF THEIR PROBLEMS
Despite the problems they experience in their professional life, paid teachers continue to come to the fore frequently with their salaries below the minimum wage. Paid teachers, on the other hand, meet frequently to announce their demands. While trying to make their voices heard, the Paid Teachers Solidarity Association announced that they will come together in Ankara, Ulus today and make a call for a solution to their problems.
“WE EXPECT OUR PERSONAL RIGHTS AND APPOINTMENT PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED”
While paid teachers wait for their personal rights problems to be resolved, they frequently come to the fore with their wages below the minimum wage. Stating that the only solution to their problems is through permanent assignment, they stated that they would reiterate their appointment requests. Expressing that the problems of paid teachers are waiting for a solution, Levent Atasoy, President of the Association of Paid Teachers, said, “We will come together with the necessary institutions and organizations. Our aim will be to solve our problems. First of all, we expect the problems in our personal rights to be resolved and the assignment issue to be resolved. Staff recruitment is carried out in many areas. We also want our staff rights to be given. No solution to our problems is found.”
