Despite all the discussions about the Teaching Profession Law, it became law on February 3, 2022. On May 12, the Regulation on Candidate Teaching and Teaching Career Steps was published in the Official Gazette. Egitim-Is Union, on the other hand, announced that it will go to the Constitutional Court regarding the law and regulation.

The Teaching Profession Law, in which the assurances and personal rights of teachers are determined, entered into force on February 3, 2022, and then the Regulation on Candidate Teaching and Teaching Career Steps was published in the Official Gazette on May 12. Drawing attention to the fact that the Law on the Teaching Profession, which came into force, was made illegally, Eğitim-İş Union stated that the profession law contains provisions contrary to the Constitution and the law.

UNCERTAINTY RULES IN BOTH LAW AND REGULATIONS

Noting that the career steps regulation implemented in the teaching profession, which is a profession of specialization, is an unacceptable practice, Eğitim-İş Union noting that the differences between the statutes were not determined, it was stated that the criteria were unclear. Underlining that there is uncertainty in the candidate teaching process as well as the professional law and career steps, the union announced that they will bring the regulation and the Teaching Profession Law to the Constitutional Court.
