Felicity (Saadet) Party General Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu made evaluations about the prominent topics of the agenda at the weekly press conference held at the party's headquarters building.
Stating that there was a need for a mentality change before the constitutional change, Karamollaoğlu said, "The Constitution is a common text. Both the government and the opposition are obliged to agree on this issue".
"THE WORLD IS SILENT TO ROHINGYA"
Speaking about the military coup in Myanmar, Karamollaoğlu said, "We are against the coups, but also against the persecution of Arakani Muslims. Unfortunately, humanity remains silent to the genocide in Rohingya as well as the drama in East Turkistan".
"THE GOVERNMENT IS SILENT TO THE OPPRESSIONS"
Underlining that Turkey should take a stand against the atrocities in the Islamic geography, Karamollaoğlu said: "Unfortunately, the government remains silent about the persecution of East Turkistan and Myanmar Muslims. We invite the President of the Republic to take a public stand against the atrocities in Muslim geographies."
"AN EXPLANATION ON CHANGING THE AGENDA"
Commenting on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's "Need for a New Constitution", Karamollaoğlu continued his words and said, "We need a mentality change before the constitutional change. While waiting for issues such as economic problems, justice problems, education, unemployment, the issue of the new Constitution suddenly emerged. "We see this change announcement as just a statement to change the agenda."
"AGRICULTURE HAS BEEN DESTROYED IN TURKEY"
Referring to the economic problems experienced by the citizens, Karamollaoğlu drew attention to the problems of farmers who cannot pay their debts due to high interest rates. Karamollaoğlu said:
"Agriculture in Turkey was finished, our farmer was devastated. You spend on concrete, asphalt, iron, but you do not give the promised money to our farmers. In Turkey, 89 billion of the total debt of farmers to banks is to public banks, 22 billion to foreign banks, and 11 billion to domestic private banks. Agricultural cooperatives exist to remedy the farmer's trouble, not to burden him."
"WE CANNOT ACCEPT BEING RIDICULED FOR OUR RELIGIOUS VALUES"
At the end of his words, Karamollaoğlu, condemning the attacks against Islamic values during the protests at Boğaziçi University, said, "The calls made against the appointment of Boğaziçi rector should be heeded. However, we cannot accept the ridicule of our belief values. The main reason why our country cannot solve any of its problems at the moment is that it brings incompetent people to duty".
