According to the April Employment Monitoring Survey conducted by TEPAV, it was observed that there were decreases in employment rates in the sectors adversely affected by Covid-19, while serious decreases were experienced in the areas of accommodation and food, culture, arts, entertainment, recreation and sports. The economic consequences of the Covid-19 outbreak were revealed with the research.
 
According to the April Employment Monitoring Research conducted by TEPAV, it was observed that there was a serious contraction in the sectors affected by the epidemic. In the research, annual decreases were observed in accommodation and food by 10.3 percent and in culture, arts, entertainment, leisure and sports by 7.4 percent. In addition, a similar contraction of 11.6 percent was experienced in the administrative and support services sector as in April and May 2020. On the other hand, it was revealed that there was a 43.2 percent decline in the households' activities as employers sector, which includes domestic services.

In January 2021, the number of insured wage earners decreased in 25 of 89 sub-sectors, while the most shrinkage was in the building and landscaping activities sector, which lost 116,000 jobs, security and investigation activities lost 93,000 jobs and food and beverage service activities 91,000 It was stated that the sectors with employment loss and the number of employees shrank the most.
 

A DECREASE OF 81 THOUSANDS IN WOMEN'S EMPLOYMENT IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS

 
In the study, which pointed out that there has been a contraction in female employment since November 2020, although the number of insured female employees increased by 201 thousand compared to the previous year, the share of the number of insured female employees in total employment decreased from 31.3 percent at the beginning of 2020 to 30.7 percent in January. It was emphasized that the contraction of the number of female employees in the last four months was approximately 81 thousand.
 

THE MOST CONTRACTION IN HAKKARI AND ARDAHAN

 
In the study, which underlined that the most employment contraction was experienced in Hakkari and Ardahan, while employment decreased by 4.8 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively, in January 2021, the limited increase observed at the end of 2020 in Antalya, where the number of employees decreased significantly after the epidemic. trend continued in January 2021. It was noted that employment increases of 2.8 percent in Istanbul, 0.4 percent in Kars, 2.3 percent in Muş, 1.8 percent in Trabzon and 3.1 percent in Rize decreased compared to the end of 2020.
