In his written statement, the President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, stated that all tradesmen and craftsmen serving in the education sector, especially stationery shopkeepers, expect schools to open.

Pointing out that approximately 18 million students and more than 8 million university students at pre-school, primary, secondary and high school levels will start school in the 2023-2024 academic year.

“THE PRODUCTS MUST HAVE 'CE' CERTIFICATE”

"This year, an average of 70-80 billion TL turnover is expected from school shopping. Along with rising prices, especially in the stationery sector, cheap but high carcinogenic and heavy metal products can be put on the market by opportunists seasonally. The safest materials are not found at seasonal vendors, but at the local stationery shopkeepers. When purchasing stationery materials, seasonal products brought from Far East countries should not be respected. The outer appearance of colorful and ornate stationery should not be deceived. All stationery materials must have the quality mark 'CE' certificate, and it must be checked whether the products pass chemical tests such as burning and protection from harmful substances," Palandöken said.
