Religion and Foundation Servants Union of Turkey (Diyanet-Sen) held the 2nd Great Turkey Meeting in Ankara Kızılcahamam. Chairman of the ‘Memur-Sen’ Confederation (Civil Servants Labour Union), Yusuf Yazgan, the ‘Diyanet-Sen’ headquarters management, the members of the Headquarters Women's Commission, branch administrations, district representatives, and workplace representatives attended the program chaired by Ali Yalçın, Chairman of the ‘Memur-Sen’ Confederation. Also in the organized program, the Imam and preacher Adem Eser from Afyon Şuhut district, who warmed the hearts of everyone across the country by offering tea and bagels to the citizens who were stuck on the road during the heavy snowfall that kept the country under the influence in the past weeks, was thanked and presented with flowers.
“WE ARE WORKING TO REMOVE VICTIMIZATION”
Taking the floor after thanking and presenting flowers, ‘Memur-Sen’ Confederation Chairman Ali Yalçın stated that ‘Diyanet-Sen’ is an organization with the highest unionization rate among public servants. Referring to the meeting held the previous week regarding 3600 additional indicators, Yalçın said, “We reiterate once again that the work on additional indicators that will increase the retirement salaries of public servants and retirement bonuses, should not produce victimization by being concluded on the axis of justice with a holistic perspective.”
“WE CONTINUE ON OUR WAY WITHOUT COMPROMISE”
‘Diyanet-Sen’ Chairman Ali Yıldız, who hosted the program, stated that they have continued on their way without making any compromise since the first day they were established. Touching on the problems experienced by religious officials, Yıldız listed the demands of their unions as follows:
“3600 additional indicators should be arranged to cover all religious staff.
‘Diyanet Academy’ should be implemented as soon as possible.
The commanding attitude of mosque associations towards Imams should be stopped.
Electricity expenses of mosques and Qur’an courses should be covered from the general budget.
There is an urgent need for admission without examination.
February 28 grievances must end.”
