47 times hikes in fuel prices in one year have been the solution to the traffic problem, where no solution is sought with urban transformation and city planning!

After the successive price hikes in fuel, there is a 44 percent relief in traffic in Istanbul, and around 25 percent in Ankara and Izmir.

The government, which has not been able to find a solution to the traffic problem of metropolitan cities, especially Istanbul and Ankara for years, has completely solved the traffic problem! The traffic problem, especially in metropolitan cities as a result of irregular migration and unplanned urbanization, could not be solved with the urban transformation, roads, bridges and tunnels, but with the increase in fuel oil, the traffic density in metropolitan cities decreased by 50 percent.

47 TIMES HIKES MADE IN ONE YEAR!

The overlapping hikes in fuel prices increased the liter price of gasoline and diesel above 13 Turkish Liras (TL), while the price of LPG was based on 9 TL. In the 1-year period from January 2021 to January 2022, gasoline prices increased by 87 percent, diesel oil increased by 107 percent and autogas increased by 143 percent. During a one-year period, it was noteworthy that the fuel was increased 47 times in total.

THE TRAFFIC PROBLEM IS SOLVED WITH HIKES RADICALLY!

Against the price hikes in fuel, the drivers found the solution to use their vehicles less. This situation caused the traffic to relax in metropolitan cities such as Ankara and Izmir, especially in Istanbul. While it is stated that the density has decreased by 44 percent in Istanbul, it is stated that it is around 25 percent in Ankara and Izmir. This situation was interpreted as the government, which could not ease the traffic with roads, bridges and tunnels, radically solved the traffic problem with fuel price hikes.
