Palestinian official agency WAFA published the report prepared by the Palestinian Central Statistics Agency on the population, deaths and detention numbers in 2023.

Accordingly, 22 thousand 404 people have been martyred throughout Palestine (Gaza and West Bank) since the beginning of 2023, and 22 thousand 141 people have been martyred only since October 7.

While 98 percent of the deaths after October 7, when Israeli attacks began, were recorded in Gaza, 9 thousand of them were children and 6 thousand 450 were women.

40 PERCENT OF THE MARTYRS ARE CHILDREN, 30 PERCENT ARE WOMEN

During the same period, 319 Palestinians, including 111 children and 4 women, were martyred in the West Bank. Approximately 1.9 million people were displaced due to attacks in the Gaza Strip.

The population of Gaza reached 2.3 million in 2023. 1.06 million of the population were children under the age of 18.
