105 years have passed since the publication of the Balfour Declaration, which laid the groundwork for the establishment of the Israeli occupation state on Palestinian lands.
The British Foreign Secretary of the time, Arthur James Balfour, promised the establishment of a "homeland" for the Jews in Palestine in a letter he wrote to Baron Walter Rothschild, one of the prominent figures of the Zionist movement, on 2 November 1917.
After the letter, which was written within the framework of the campaigns carried out with the discourse of "replacing the stateless people in the homeland without the people", a great Jewish occupation migration to the historical Palestinian lands was started.
England, which played a leading role in the destruction of the Ottoman Empire with various sedition projects, paved the way for the establishment of an Israeli state in the historical Palestinian territories it occupied, with the Balfour Declaration.
BRITISH LEAD THE WAY, JEWS OCCUPIED IT
This historical betrayal of Britain, which opened the Palestinian lands to the usurpation of the Jews by ignoring all the rights of the Palestinians, led to the establishment of the Israeli occupation state in 1948.
The declaration, which is seen as the most important milestone in the process leading to the establishment of the state of Israel, was prepared as a result of mutual correspondence between Rothschild and Balfour.
Balfour's letter, which began with the words, "Dear Lord Rothschild, on behalf of His Majesty's government, I am pleased to convey the following declaration of sympathy with the Jewish Zionist aspirations submitted and accepted to the Cabinet," continued as follows:
"His Majesty's Government welcomes the establishment of a national home for the Jews in Palestine and will do its best to facilitate the achievement of this goal. It should be clearly understood that nothing will be done that will harm the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine and the rights and political status of Jews living in other countries. I will be pleased if you bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation."
PALESTINIANS LIVED THE SECOND BALFOUR WITH TRUMP
The range of disasters Palestinians have suffered since the 1917 Balfour Declaration has increased under US President Donald Trump. The steps taken by US President Trump made the Palestinians experience the Balfour Declaration for the second time.
Israel's occupation and annexation of East Jerusalem in 1967, in addition to West Jerusalem, which remained within it according to the United Nations resolutions, as well as the declaration of Jerusalem as the so-called capital of Israel as a whole, and the U.S. The process leading up to its recognition is seen as a continuation of the process that began with the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
Just like the British Foreign Secretary Balfour at the time, US President Trump ignored the Palestinians and promised lands they did not own to those who had no rights. After Trump, his rival Joe Biden came to the US administration, and the pro-Israeli policies implemented by Washington during the Trump period did not change.
ENGLAND CONSIDERS THE HISTORIC SHAME AS A PRIDE
In 2017, British Prime Minister Theresa May made a statement on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the declaration, "We are proud of our role in the establishment of the state of Israel and will certainly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the declaration with pride," she said.
Known for its unlimited support to the Zionist occupation regime, Britain also abstained in the 2012 United Nations Security Council vote on the recognition of Palestine as a state.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE”
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation made a written statement on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration signed by the UK.
In the statement, the reflections of the aforementioned declaration, the beginning of the Nakba (Great Catastrophe) in 1948, the displacement of the Palestinian people and the denial of their legitimate national rights, the establishment of the Israeli occupation state based on colonial settlement policies, attacks, deportations, ethnic cleansing, expropriation, damage to properties. It was reported that the city of Jerusalem was embodied by the efforts of Judaization.
