Mustafa Özşimşekler Hodja, one of the students of Mahmud Effendi, added, “The issue is to continue the path of His Excellency. Being close to our Lord is possible by continuing his path. The more we live by the sharia and the more we follow the sunnah, the closer we will be to our Master. May Almighty God grants us with this.”
We talked the exemplary life of His Holiness Mahmud Effendi, who has passed away in the past days, followed a line like straight path and was shaped by the Qur'an and sunnah, with the valuable teachers who are among the brothers of His Excellency via Federation of Associations that Value People (İDDEF).
Mustafa Özşimşekler, one of the students of His Holiness Mahmud Effendi and one of the leading teachers of İsmailağa community, made very valuable words about His Excellency Mahmud Effendi. Reminding that the world is a place of exile and elders do not see death as a bad thing, Özşimşekler said, “Our Mahmud Hodja has reached the Lord. Our pain is still fresh, our pain is still great. Of course, I say this from our side, otherwise every soul will taste death. Even if the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) already tasted death... The elders don't see death as a bad thing, they don't describe it as something bad. The world is a place of exile, our real homeland is heaven. Death is a means of passing from the place of homelessness to the original homeland. Death is man's happiest day, his wedding day. This is how elders saw death. In other words, when viewed by our Master’s eyes, death is a union, it is the meeting of the lover with the beloved. Even if the death is an union for our Master, death means frustration for us. Because our Lord was like the spiritual father of this ummah.”
“THE MORE WE LIVE THE SHARIA, THE CLOSE WE ARE TO HIM”
Mustafa Özşimşekler also emphasized the importance of continuing the path of His Holiness Mahmud Effendi. The way to be close to Mahmud Effendi is to live the sharia. Özşimşekler added, “The issue is to continue the path of His Excellency. Just as our masters of the Companions continued the path after the death of our Prophet (pbuh) our duty is to continue this path. Being close to our Lord is possible by continuing his path. The more we live by the sharia, the more we follow the sunnah, the closer we will be to our Master. May God grant us with this.”
“HE HAS BEEN A SULTAN IN THE HEART OF THE UMMAH”
Mustafa Özşimşekler also mentioned that His Holiness Mahmud Effendi bid farewell with the participation of millions of people. Özşimşekler said, “Millions gathered at the funeral of our Master. Friend, foe surprised. Some even bite their fingers, right? He became a sultan in the hearts of the ummah. There were people up to Vatan Street that day. May our Lord grant us to be able to gather under the banner of our Prophet (PBUH) in the hereafter, as we gathered at the funeral of our Master.”
