In the report, which emphasized that the jobs of the tradesmen decreased by 83 percent during the pandemic period, it was noted that there was a 26 percent loss of employment. In the report, in which it was stated that the tradesmen had many similar problems, the solution proposals of the tradesmen were included in order to overcome the problems. 
 
The Tradesmen and Craftsmen Association (ESDER) revealed the deplorable situation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), which are experiencing great difficulties, in the tradesmen report it prepared for 2021. 
 
In the report, it was underlined that the tradesmen were directly affected by the events, and it was pointed out that the business decreased by 83 percent during the pandemic period. On the other hand, the report also presented a recipe for tradesmen to overcome the troublesome process. 
 
With the report it prepared, ESDER brought to light the problems experienced by the tradesmen during the pandemic process. 
 
The report, in which the problems of the tradesmen were presented in articles, included the following determinations: 
 
During the pandemic process, the business of tradesmen decreased by 83 percent. 
 
Credit decreased, card usage increased. 
 
There was a 26 percent loss of employment. 
 
While 71 percent was a tenant, the rate of benefiting from loans could not exceed 38 percent. 
 
During the normalization process, only 23 percent of the tradesmen were able to catch up with their old business potential.
 
The indebtedness rate in businesses called neighborhood tradesmen was 65 percent. 
 
30 percent of the tradesmen who say they have debt, have both personal and commercial loan debt. 
 

TRADESMEN HAVE MANY COMMON PROBLEMS 

 
In the report, which also compiles the common problems of the tradesmen, “Supply problem, shortage of raw materials, excessively high prices, inability to make price analyzes. Employees become unemployed due to high interest rates on the receivables of electricity, gas, internet and telephone companies, closing of restaurants, cafes, tea houses and coffee houses, and the inability of such business owners to receive sufficient rental assistance. The cash shortage in the markets, the short time period in the payment of tax and Social Security Institution (SSI) premiums, which were postponed for six months. Items such as the bad job of the tradesmen before the pandemic process are just a few of the common problems of the tradesmen,” the statement said. 
 

TRADESMEN ALSO OFFERED A SOLUTION 

 
At the end of the report, ‘ESDER’ shared the solution suggestions sent by the tradesmen in their own handwriting. Among the solutions offered by the tradesmen in the report, the prominent ones are as follows: 
 
Identification of malicious industry players that turn the process into an opportunity
 
Providing convenience in rent, tax, SSI premium payments 
 
Postponement of all loans and debts 
 
Realization of loans and supports without interest 
 
Tax and SSI premiums will be completely reset for 1 year and the tradesmen will be allowed to recover. 
 
Establishing a stable economic policy
