The Ministry of Justice and the AKP's legal staff agreed on 3 items. After President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's call to ‘take the headscarf under the constitutional guarantee’, the Ministry of Justice increased its activities. The AKP's legal staff are focusing on different formulas in their meetings. While a 5-item change was brought to the agenda in the studies carried out by the Ministry of Justice and the AKP staff, the said 2 articles were canceled and reduced to 3 articles.
EXPECTED TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE TBMM WITHIN A WEEK
After Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's call to ‘Let's take the headscarf legally secure’, President Erdogan's ‘Let's take it under the guarantee of the Constitution’ determined the political agenda. It is expected that the AKP will present its proposal to constitutionally secure the headscarf to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) within this week or next week at the latest.
ERDOĞAN WILL DECIDE ON THE FAMILY ARTICLE
In the studies, Article 24 and 10 of the Constitution is planned to be changed for the headscarf. It is stated that the article about the family will be determined according to Erdogan's decision. The amendment made in 2008, which was annulled by the Constitutional Court, is also expected to be included in the agenda.
