President Erdogan and Putin will meet in Sochi today. Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet at the critical summit in Sochi after a long break. The agenda of the two leaders, who have not held face-to-face meetings for about 1.5 years, will include Syria, Afghanistan, Libya and the S-400 defense system. It is also stated that Putin will use his trump card to shake hands with Erdogan. Erdogan and Putin will hold a critical meeting in Sochi today. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov made a statement about the summit; "The two leaders always have a lot to talk about. First of all, Syria and of course Afghanistan will be on the agenda. Traditionally, views will be exchanged on Libya and other international issues," he said.

IDLIB, PRIORITY TOPIC

During the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss important issues. Especially in recent days, the bombardment of the Idlib region, where Turkey's security forces are located, by Russian and Assad troops is one of the topics to be discussed. While the increase in air strikes before the meeting draws attention, it is wondered whether there will be a new S-400 agreement between Turkey and Russia.

PUTIN WILL PERSUADE ERDOĞAN TO SHAKE HAND WITH ASSAD

Russia, on the other hand, claims that Turkey did not fulfill the terms of the 2018 agreement on Syria's Idlib region. Russia cites Turkey's failure to comply with the terms of the agreement as the reason for increasing its air strikes in Idlib before the meeting. On the other hand, it is stated that Putin will persuade Erdogan to shake hands with Assad during the meeting, and it is stated that he will use his trump cards such as the S-400 air defense system for this.
