A great disappointment in the embryo transfer project, which was initiated as a great revolution in the country's animal husbandry during the period of Faruk Celik, one of the former Ministers of Agriculture.
While the project, which was started by spending millions of lira, was shelved by saying that "the desired result could not be achieved" during Bekir Pakdemirli's Ministry, it was revealed that millions of liras of damage suffered by the public during the period of Vahit Kirişçi's Ministry were tried to be covered up by not being collected from the managers.
Although it is presented as a new hope in the country's livestock, no explanation has been given to the public about why the project failed, and it is noteworthy that millions of liras of damage are not collected from those responsible and tried to cover it up.
IT WAS PRESENTED AS THE “BIG REVOLUTIONARY” IN LIVESTOCK
As it is known, with the embryo transfer initiated at General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) during the period of Faruk Çelik's Ministry, it was aimed to increase the number of qualified animals by increasing the yield in the country's livestock.
While this system, which is implemented in some countries in the world, was implemented for the first time in Turkey, it was planned to rapidly increase the number of elite animals in the country by transferring embryos to be obtained from high-qualified animals selected within the scope of the project to low-yielding animals that do not have any problems in terms of reproduction.
Within the scope of the project, 15,000 animals were imported from abroad, and the project, for which millions of liras were spent, was interrupted in a short time. The project, which was announced as a great hope for the country's livestock and even made a serious publicity on this subject, was canceled and ended abruptly during Bekir Pakdemirli's Ministry without any public statement. 15 thousand animals imported within the scope of the project were sent to slaughter.
MINISTRY INSPECTORS FOUND SEVERE ERRORS IN THE PROJECT
During Bekir Pakdemirli's period, Ministry inspectors were assigned to detect the problems in the embryo transfer project, while the Ministry inspectors found the TİGEM managers of the period to be deliberately defective, and determined that the institution suffered a loss of 30 million TL.
Embryo transfer project, which is one of the leading modern biotechnological methods applied in animal husbandry in countries such as Germany, France and the Netherlands, has not been implemented in Turkey as a viable project, has no budget and funds, and the most important factor in the failure of the project is to start the project with 15,000 animals without any trial. Has detected. Ministry inspectors demanded compensation of 30 million lira public damage from those responsible.
POLITICAL ELDERS STEPPED IN THE ACTION THE REPORT TRIED TO BE SOFTENED
After the heavy report, in which the Ministry inspectors determined a loss of 30 million liras and the TİGEM board of directors of the period was found to be defective, the 'political elders' stepped in, the Ministry Inspection Department tried to soften the report and no action was taken against the damage suffered by the institution, and the final decision was left to the TİGEM board of directors.
IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS AFTER THE INSPECTOR'S REPORTS
Two years have passed since the Ministry inspectors' report, and the TİGEM Board of Directors is expected to decide whether there is a 'service defect or personal fault' in the embryo transfer project, which was aborted and caused millions of lira damage to the institution. If the TİGEM Board of Directors, contrary to the Ministry inspectors, sees the incident as a service defect rather than a personal fault, the abuses in embryo transfer will be covered completely and the members of the TİGEM board of directors of the period will be acquitted.
PAKDEMİRLİ DID NOT ALLOW THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE PUBLIC DAMAGES
While Bekir Pakdemirli appointed the inspectors to examine the abuses in the embryo transfer project, which inflicted millions of liras on the institution, he did not allow the members of the TİGEM board of directors of the period to be prosecuted against the crimes determined by the inspectors. It was significant that Pakdemirli did not allow the members of the TİGEM Board of Directors of the period not to be prosecuted, even though he appointed the inspectors and the inspectors made serious determinations about causing damage to the institution.
