President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, who made a statement about the problems of the tradesmen and the deposit application, "As the community of tradesmen and craftsmen, we support the application of deposits to recyclable wastes in order to prevent the reoccurrence of the recent natural disasters, to increase environmental awareness and to win the country's economy. However, in order for the mandatory deposit system to work correctly, all businesses operating in the retail sector must be obliged to take the deposit of the product they sell. The entire burden of the mandatory deposit application should not be on the shoulders of the tradesmen," he said.

PALANDÖKEN: “OUR CITIES WILL KEEP CLEAN THANKS TO RECYCLING”

Emphasizing the importance of implementing the mandatory deposit application, Palandöken said, "The recent natural disasters, fires, floods, pollution and mucilage problem in our country have caused us to reconsider our environmental awareness. It is very important that the national deposit system be implemented without delay. Because the disposal of non-biodegradable plastics such as bottles, caps, straws, bags and balloons into the environment brings more and more disasters."

TESK Chairman Bendevi Palandöken underlined that all businesses, not small tradesmen, should adapt to the practice, "With the deposit application, we must ensure that consumers bring these packages. For this, all our tradesmen and other businesses must be obliged to take the deposit of the product they sell. The recovery of the returnable product should not be burdened only on our tradesmen. Consumers should also act consciously in this regard and become accustomed to recycling waste for our environment and economy," he added.
