A step was taken yesterday in the ‘drug crisis’ that Milli Gazete brought to the agenda yesterday. According to the President's decision published in the Official Gazette, the value of 1 Euro in Turkish Lira (TL) to be used in the pricing of medicinal products for human use was increased to 36,77 percent in December from 7,86 TL to 10,76 TL. The hike, which would normally be made in February, has been hastened.

The Presidential decision on the Amendment of the Decision on the Pricing of Medicinal Products for Human Use entered into force after being published in yesterday's issue of the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the effective date of the real source price or sale to warehouse price changes made within the scope of Article 10 of the Communiqué on Pricing of Medicinal Products for Human Use has been determined as the publication date of the decision for this year. Thus, the price update for the drug, which is made every year in February, has been hastened. Within the scope of the President's decision, the value of 1 Euro in Turkish Lira to be used in the pricing of medicinal products for human use increased by 36,77 percent in December.

The said increase and new scale values will be valid one day after the publication date of this decision.

“THE FIRST STEP TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF MEDICATION LACKNESS”

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, in a statement to the journalists the previous day in the Parliament, stated that the first step towards solving the problem in the supply of medicines would be taken within 1-2 days, and gave the clue that an arrangement would be made. Sharing on his social media account after the Presidential Decision published, Koca said, “The first step to solve the problem of not finding a drug was taken with the signature of our President. The price update, which should have been done in February, was hastened. Other steps are on the way. We will solve it, so no one should worry.”
