The Good (IYI) Party held its weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Good Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener came to power and criticized the economy and the Gezi Park case. Akşener said that during the meeting of 6 political party leaders at the Democratic Party Headquarters, they reached a consensus on many issues.
“WE HAVE UNITED OPINION ON THE SYSTEM”
Akşener reacted to the aggravated life sentence for Osman Kavala and 18 years for each of the other defendants in the Gezi Park trial. Making harsh criticisms of the Presidential Government System, Akşener said, “We have a consensus that this monstrous system will not carry Turkey. We have a consensus on the principles of the Strengthened Parliamentary System.” Akşener stated that the AKP (Justice and Development Party) administrators were unaware of the citizens' problems and said that the national unity was weakened day by day by the AKP government and people were separated.
