In Turkey, which will enter the election period at any moment, the government and the opposition are trying to determine their election strategies. While the opposition prepares and shares with the public promises about the reforms it will make, especially the Strengthened Parliamentary System, it seems that the government, which has been in power for nearly 20 years, will resort to harshness rather than promises. President Erdogan's ascription of "streetgirl" to those who took to the streets at that time, on the anniversary of the Gezi Park events, led to comments that "the election strategy of the government will be toughness instead of promises".

THE OPPOSITION IS SIDED WITH PROMISES WHEN THE GOVERNMENT IS SIDED WITH TOUGHNESS!

While the opposition parties start their work months in advance to prepare for a possible election, they share their promises in every field with the public from time to time. However, it was wondered the power who is unsuccessful in many policies, especially in the economy, with what kind of promise would appear in front of the citizens. While political scientists express that the government would adopt a harsh political understanding because of the lack of credibility in the promises of the government, it was noteworthy that President Erdoğan insulted a 'streetgirl' on the anniversary of Gezi Park.

THE GOVERNMENT CONSUMED ITS PROMISES IN 20 YEARS

While President Erdogan's "streetgirl" analogy is considered as a signal flare of his election strategy, it is expected that the government will adopt a tougher style and policy in the upcoming period. Political scientists, who state that the government has exhausted its promises in 20 years, argue that the government will fill the void of promises with harshness.
