The United-Public-Business Confederation (Birleşik-Kamu-İş Konfederasyonu) R&D unit calculated the hunger limit and poverty line based on a family of four, and was shared with the public. According to the results of the research, the numbers determining the hunger limit and poverty line continued to increase in October.
HUNGER LIMIT HAS INCREASED BY 4,515 TL IN THE LAST 1 YEAR
The hunger limit, which is based on the type and amount of food that a family of four should ideally consume in order to have a balanced and healthy diet, increased by 556 TL in October compared to the previous month, and increased by 4,515 TL in the last year. With the increase in food prices, the hunger limit increased to 8,223 TL.
POVERTY LINE INCREASED BY 2,136 TL COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS MONTH
Again, the poverty line, which is calculated by taking into account the non-food expenditures that a family of four must make in order to meet other needs in addition to food in a manner befitting human dignity, without feeling deprived, is increased by 2,136 TL compared to the previous month, and increased by 11,828 TL in the last year. With the fluctuations in the economy and the exorbitant increases in prices, the poverty line reached 24,515 TL.
