Referring to the reactions to Israeli Joint List Party Deputy Ofer Cassif's support of South Africa's "genocide" case against Israel, Tibi said, "The case in The Hague is not based on Cassif's words, but on the words of Smotrich, (National Security Minister Itamar) Ben-Gvir and (Heritage Minister Amihai) Eliyahu. Those who speak this way want the war to continue, they do not want the hostages (captives) to be brought back."
Cassif was subjected to heavy criticism from the racist group after he signed the petition supporting the case filed against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Today, an initiative was launched in the Israeli Parliament to remove Cassif's mandate after it supported the "genocide" lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel.
