The last turn in the price hike bargain for public workers

The government and the unions came together on Friday for the increase in the collective bargaining agreement, which concerns about 700,000 public workers.

As the last corner of the bargain is turned, it is expected that the process will be decided at the meeting to be held today.

The expectation of the unions is to give a sufficient raise rate for public workers.

The government is expected to forward its proposal to the unions today. It is stated that in case of a compromise, President Erdoğan will announce the agreed figure.

The process is expected to conclude on Tuesday in the 2023 Public Collective Bargaining Agreement Framework Protocol negotiations, which concern more than 700,000 workers.

WORKER'S SIDE REQUESTED RAISING THE BASE WAGE TO 15,000 LIRA

The new proposal from the government is expected to be finalized on Tuesday, while the workers' side continues to insist on raising the monthly gross base wage to 15,000 lira, then adding a 15 percent welfare share to all wages, and then a 45 percent increase for the first six months.
