It was learned that Ramazan Yıldırım, who passed away in the collapse that occurred in the Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise (TTK) Armutçuk Enterprise mine in Zonguldak's Karadeniz Ereğli district, continued his duty due to the young age of his children, although he was entitled to retirement about 3 years ago.

Yıldırım, a 45-year-old father of three whose father's profession started mining in 2000, worked on the production line in the mine.

Although he was entitled to retirement about 3 years ago, Yıldırım, who continued to work for his 10, 12 and 14-year-old children, lost his life in the collapse that occurred the day before in the mine where he worked as a "postmaster".

"HE HAD NO FEAR, HE COULD ENTER ANYWHERE"

İsmail Yıldırım, who works in the same mine with his brother Ramazan Yıldırım, said that his brother has been working as a production worker since 2000, when he started mining.

Yıldırım stated that his brother was hardworking and "daredevil".

"He was not afraid, he did not hesitate. He had no fear, he would go anywhere. His courage cost him dearly. He was working as a shift postmaster. On the day of the incident, I was informed that there was a collapse. I went to the wellhead, we waited for about 2 hours for them to come out. Meanwhile, I learned that the collapse was where my brother worked," Yıldırım said.

“HE WAS THINKING OF WORKING FOR 1 MORE YEAR”

Yıldırım stated that his nephews were young and said, "He was a person who loved to work and was planning to work for 1 more year. We work the same shift. When I first learned about the incident, I was stunned. When I heard that the incident took place where he worked, I said, 'He is one of those who are under the rubble,' and I felt it. I ran to the wellhead. We waited, we were told there were 4 people and one of them was named after my brother. We prayed, but it the rest is God's will."

HIS FUNERAL WAS BURIED

Ramazan Yıldırım's body was brought to the town square after receiving permission from his house in Başören village of Ormanlı town of the district.

Here Yıldırım's family accepted their condolences. Yıldırım's body was buried in the village cemetery after the prayer performed by Provincial Mufti Aşır Durgun at noon.
