In the 6th Term Collective Agreement held in July, civil servants and retirees received a 5 percent increase. In addition to this increase, an extra increase of 2,5 percent and a salary increase of 7,5 percent were realized. Civil servants and retirees became creditors in return for the increase in January inflation. According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), January inflation was 11,1 percent, while it was 15,2 percent according to Inflation Research Group (ENAG). According to the research conducted by the Confederation of Independent Public Employees' Unions (BASK), it was stated that when the calculation is made over the 7,5 percent main increase in the salaries of civil servants and retirees, they experience losses in the face of inflation.
INCREASES MELT FROM THE FIRST MONTH
According to the research conducted by BASK, when the 7,5 percent main increase in the salaries of civil servants and retirees is calculated, it has become 3,6 percent creditor against the inflation figures, while the January loss of civil servants and retirees is around 630 to 1,148 Turkish Liras (TL). Bayram Zengin, President of BASK noting that the increases given since the first day of the signing of the 6th Term Collective Agreement, said, "The 7,5 percent increase, along with the 2,5 percent increase given under the name of the additional rise, has melted away from the first month."
THE LOWEST LOSS 630 TL, THE HIGHEST LOSS 1,173 TL
According to the research conducted by BASK, revealed at a 12 to 1 degree service employee lost 630,52 TL against the January inflation, while at a 9 to 1 degree civil servant lost 675,68 TL, at a 7 to 1 degree teacher lost 766,28 TL, at a 12 to 3 degree nurse lost 741,34 TL, at a 8 to 3 degree general practitioner lost 1,105,4 TL, at a 11 to 1 degree office technician lost 708,48 TL, at a 1 to 4 degree office technician lost 919,73 TL, at a 1 to 4 degree engineer lost 1,173,76 TL and at a 1 to 4 degree branch manager lost 1,148.5 TL.
