Disabled teachers, whose hopes are constantly postponed with the postponement of public personnel selection examination (EKPSS), suffer from not keeping their "appointment" promise given to them this time! Promises made to teachers with disabilities who could not be appointed by the previous Minister of National Education Selçuk were forgotten when the minister changed.
MONTHS HAVE PASSED, NO STEPS HAS BEEN TAKEN
Former Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk said in a statement in May 2021, "Our work on the appointment of teachers with disabilities continues at full speed." However, shortly after this announcement, Selçuk resigned and Mahmut Özer was appointed in his place. Despite being appointed for about two months, the new minister Özer does not take any steps regarding disabled teachers, while disabled teachers are waiting for the appointment calendar to be announced as soon as possible.
MİLLİ GAZETE BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA
While the continuous postponement of EKPSS made disabled teachers suffer, the Milli Gazete expressed the victimization with the headline "Do not hinder hopes".
In the news of the Milli Gazete, "While the exams taken by millions of students are being held, the exams of the disabled are constantly postponed due to the pandemic. EKPSS, which is held every two years and should be held on April 26 this year, was postponed to September 20 due to the coronavirus that affected the whole world. During this period, while exams taken by millions of students such as Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), KPSS and DGS were held, the exam for 85,000 disabled people was postponed to 11 October 2020. However, postponing the exam to an indefinite date this time before the date of October 11 came, this time made people say to give up," it was stated.
FULFILL THE APPOINTMENT PROMISE
Disabled teachers, who have been victimized by delaying EKPSS many times due to the pandemic, are now suffering from not keeping the promises made to them. The teachers with disabilities who could not be appointed 2,511, who were promised to appoint during the previous Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, want the new Minister Mahmut Özer to fulfill his promise of 'appointment'. Disabled teachers, whose hopes are constantly postponed with the postponement of EKPSS, want the authorities to hear their voices as soon as possible.
