The "Turkey Meeting" organized by the Memur-Sen Women's Commission was held in Ankara with the participation of hundreds of unionist women.

The women members of the unions affiliated to Memur-Sen came together in the program, in which there was an intense participation.

YALÇIN: “OUR WOMEN'S COMMISSION DONE IMPORTANT WORKS”

Speaking at the program, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of the Memur-Sen Confederation, stated that the Memur-Sen Women's Commission has carried out important works.

"This is a success story that proves that unions are not meeting spaces for men. Therefore, Memur-Sen completed the missing part of trade unionism in Turkey, with its women's organization proving that unionism is not a man's pursuit but an opposition based on human values," Yalçın said.

“YOU HAVE BEEN THE VOICE OF ALL WOMEN”

Stating that Memur-Sen Women's Commission is the voice of women who are persecuted all over the world, Yalçın said, "Isn't this organization that made a mark in history by reporting the oppression and crimes of February 28? Gathering 12 million 300 thousand signatures for freedom of dress in public with this organized force, protesting violence and injustice against women in Sıhhiye Square, and coming together in Şanlıurfa for the aid campaign for asylum seekers by saying 'It's Time for Expenditure for the Oppressed'. The one who condemns terrorism in Gaziantep. The one that brought aid trucks to Aleppo in 81 provinces. The one who unites her heart with the hearts of Diyarbakır mothers. It was you who marched with torches to hear the cries of the women imprisoned in the Syrian prisons to the deaf ears of the world."

AYDIN: “WE ARE WORKING FOR WOMEN TO BE THE LEADERS IN THE STRUGGLE FOR LABOR”

Sıdıka Aydın, Head of the Memur-Sen Women's Commission, emphasized that women, who are the subjects of working life, are realizing their dreams of leading the labor struggle step by step.

"The founding codes of Memur-Sen, Turkey's largest labor organization, are about being beneficial to members in particular, to the country in general, and to the world in general. The reflection of this on our women's commissions is to struggle to benefit women in particular, all employees in general, and all humanity in general. With this awareness, we will carry our Women's Commission one step further and fulfill our responsibility in the upcoming period," she said.
