Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Kaya called for restraint to all parties regarding the events in Iraq. Pointing out that the eruption of the events after the summit in Tehran is thought-provoking, Kaya said, "Whoever or who carried out this attack must be revealed in all its details. As much restraint as possible, as much common sense as possible, is indispensable for overcoming such times of crisis. The incident should be examined in a transparent way with all its dimensions and the results should be shared with the public."

Tensions rose in the country after the Turkish Armed Forces alleged that the previous night had attacked civilians in Iraq.

While statements targeting Ankara were made by official and unofficial authorities, provocative actions against Turkey were carried out in many parts of the country.

Mustafa Kaya, Deputy Chairman of Saadet Party in charge of Foreign Policy, made evaluations to our newspaper regarding the events that caused the tension in the relations between the two countries to rise.

"It is thought-provoking that the events erupted after the summit"

Kaya pointed out that the events started after the "triple summit" between Turkey, Iran and Russia in Tehran.

"After such an important meeting, the death of 9 civilians as a result of a mortar attack in Iraq has deeply saddened us like everyone else. The perpetrators must be found as soon as possible. Is this attack a sabotage against this meeting? Is a provocation planned? brought questions to mind. This attack and some of the statements made after it may be aimed at scratching the differences of opinion that emerged as a result of this summit," Kaya added.

“THE EVENT MUST BE EXAMINED WITH ALL ITS DIMENSIONS”

Stating that all parties should act with common sense, Kaya used following words:

"However, it is thought-provoking that the claims that the deaths of civilians occurred directly as a result of the Turkish Armed Forces attack. The call for cooperation made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to both the Iraqi Central Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in order to find the real perpetrators of the incident is an important call to shed light on the attack. Whoever or who carried out this attack must be revealed in all its details. As much restraint as possible, as much common sense as possible, is indispensable for overcoming such times of crisis. The incident should be examined in a transparent way with all its dimensions and the results should be shared with the public."
