The new law on the holiday periods of teachers makes victims of their guide teachers. Eğitim-Bir-Sen applied to the ministry and asked for the problem to be corrected.

According to the new law article approved by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, it was envisaged to employ teachers during the holidays. In the new article enacted, an uncertainty about the holiday periods of the counselors is dominant. Eğitim-Bir-Sen applied to the Ministry of National Education in order to eliminate the uncertainty about how and what kind of work schedule teachers will be subject to. Stating that a victimization has occurred, the union pointed out that action should be taken to resolve the problem. In the statement made by the union, "by applying to the Ministry of National Education, a general planning for a plan that will prevent arbitrary consultancy, choice of field and course, assignment in the work to be done depending on the student identification process, preventing subjective rights and not violating the permit rights. we requested an adjustment," it was stated.

UNCERTAINTY OCCURS

In the application, it was also emphasized that the additional tuition fee paid for these tasks should be increased, at least 6 hours, by taking into consideration that the guidance teachers are employed during their annual leave periods.

"In the text of the application, the provision in question has created an uncertainty about how the guidance teachers are planned to be appointed during the holidays; The fact that it was not decided when to go face-to-face education within the scope of combating the Covid-19 epidemic further increased the uncertainty in question, thus posing the risk of loss of rights and victimization for guidance teachers," was said.

EDIT REQUIREMENT IN 3 FIELDS

In the text, underlining that equality is a constitutional right, the union demanded regulation in three areas:

"Arrangements should be made in order to plan the time period and duration of the assignment of the guidance teachers during the leave and holiday periods, depending on the choice of the course and course, the student identification process, and that the assignment should be left to the guidance teachers' requests firstly, annual leave If it is obligatory and inevitable to perform assignment within the period of time, an arrangement should be made in order to increase the additional course fee paid for these tasks at least 6 hours, taking into account their annual leave," the statement said.
