The government, which took a step back after the citizen's reaction to the electricity hikes, is expected to regulate it. While the regulations to be made by the government were shared with the public under several options, it was learned that the government had no other option than Value Added Tax (VAT), as in food. According to the information reached by the Milli Gazete, it is stated that the government can only reduce the VAT rate in the electricity hike, and that the 18 percent VAT can be made 8 percent or 1 percent at the moment. While the government will reduce the reaction of the citizens with the VAT reduction, on the other hand, it will not have taken the energy companies against it.

THE ONLY OPTION: VAT DISCOUNT

While the reaction of the citizen made the government take a step back, the government is working on options that will reduce the hike. While it is stated in the public opinion that there are 4 alternatives at the table of the government, but according to the information reached by the Milli Gazete, there is only one option on the table. This option, on the other hand, is a VAT reduction that will both reduce the reaction of the citizens and please the energy companies! Power, as in food, it plans to get through this process without any problems by reducing VAT in electricity as well.

IT WILL BE DECREASED FROM 18 PERCENT TO 8 PERCENT

The government thinks that the most logical option is the VAT reduction, as the withdrawal of the hike will cause the energy companies to react as well. For this reason, it is on the table to reduce the VAT, which is 18 percent in electricity under normal conditions, to 8 percent or 1 percent. It is among the information received that the government will most likely reduce VAT to 8 percent. It was learned that the government, which was thinking about the VAT reduction, removed other options from the table.
