The heads of the Six Opposition Parties in charge of Adana province election affairs held their first meeting for the upcoming elections. The meeting, which was held with the participation of Republican People’s Party (CHP) Adana Election and Legal Affairs President Atty. Sabri Sarı, Democracy and Progress (DEVA) Party Adana Election Affairs President Atty. Selçuk Özsoylu, Head of Adana Election and Legal Affairs of the Future (Gelecek) Party, Atty. Bekir Can Özkan, IYI Party Adana Election Affairs President Oğuz Büken, and Saadet Party Adana Election and Legal Affairs President Mustafa Çekilarız, hosted by Saadet Party Adana Provincial Presidency and lasted for about 5 hours. At the meeting, the election staff of the Six Opposition Parties in Adana focused on "election security". It was stated that these meetings, which will set a precedent, will continue, and a joint press statement was made after the meeting.
“WE CARRY OUT OUR WORK WITH COMMITMENT”
In the joint press statement of the Presidents of the Six Opposition Parties responsible for Adana province election affairs, drawing attention to the importance of the elections, they said, “We will reflect the will of our entire nation, especially our Adana. We are working day and night with the awareness that even a single vote is valuable, no matter which political party or candidate it is given to protect the ballot boxes. We are already identifying and training ballot box committee members and observers who will serve on election day. As in the field of election security, as in every field that will be beneficial to our nation, we share our knowledge and experience as the heads of election affairs of the Six Opposition Parties in Adana, and join our forces for the 'Turkey of tomorrow', in which we will pass to the Strengthened Parliamentary System. In this context, we are working devotedly with our entire team, especially lawyers, for the election process.”
“WE EXPECT THE SUPPORT OF OUR CITIZENS”
Pointing out that all organizations of Six Opposition Parties members are in cooperation, the statement said, “We are laying the groundwork for our members and representatives in provincial and district election boards to work in cooperation. We act TOGETHER for the fair and equal execution of the election process with the awareness of ‘THE VOTE IS HONOR!’ and the propaganda activities in this process. In this context, we promise that we will not make any concessions to any action that will abuse the public power, that we will take the necessary stance with great determination in order to protect the will of the voters, and we expect the support of all our fellow citizens of Adana on this road we set out with faith.”
