The Ministry of Justice continues to work with hundreds of sick detainees in the prison. It is expected that the package, in which different formulas are discussed, especially the release of detainees who cannot sustain their lives in prison due to health problems, will come to the agenda with the opening of the Parliament. While the Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ confirmed the study, the details are expected to be clarified in September.
THE FIRST AGENDA WILL BE THE JUDICIAL PACKAGE
The Ministry of Justice started to work for sick prisoners and convicts in prisons. It was learned that the Ministry, which is working on an alternative package for detainees and convicts who cannot maintain their lives in prisons due to health problems, plans to prepare the regulation for the opening of the Parliament. It is estimated that the first regulation to be brought to the agenda with the opening of the Parliament will be the judicial package.
BOZDAĞ: “WE HAVE A WILL TO MAKE FLEXIBLE REGULATION”
Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag stating in a statement that the work on the regulation of the new judicial package continues, he said, “The Forensic Medicine Institute gives reports about people who cannot live on their own in prison, and then the public prosecutor's office makes a decision about them. There are serious problems here. In order to overcome these, we have a will to make a flexible arrangement that will enable sick detainees and convicts to be treated better and to meet their other needs. How we can make a more humane arrangement, we are working on this now, our friends are looking for formulas, both our experience and the practices in Europe are being reviewed. Of course, I would like to express that we will take a step here.”
