Akkol's sentence was later turned to work on the construction of the Qur'an course for 17 days as part of probation practices.

Akkol said that he was happy to complete his sentence in the mosque and said, "I am serving both my deeds and I am serving my sentence. I also perform my prayer with the teacher here."

Akkol was sentenced to 2.5 months of imprisonment by the judicial authorities, and remained in Beşikdüzü Open Prison for a week. Later, under the Probation Law, Akkol's punishment was brought to work in the construction of the Qur'an course for 17 days within the scope of probation practices. Akkol, who signed to the law enforcement unit 2 days a week, is working on the construction of the Qur'an course, which is under construction at Kuruçam Village Yayla Mosque in Hıdırnebi Plateau between 09.00 and 13.00. Helping the craftsmen in construction, Akkol sifts sand and carries timber and bricks.

“We are willing to do everything the state has decided”

Akkol said in a statement that he was happy to complete his term in the mosque within the scope of probation practice. Expressing his pleasure to serve in the mosque, Akkol continued: “I am pleased to be working here. I'm a person who likes to work. I'm doing good, and I'm punishing. And here I am praying with the teacher. I'm happy, I'm not restless. We are willing to do anything the government has given us. I'm glad something like that came to me. I serve the mosque. Normally I have 4 hours of work, but I work with the masters until 17.00. I don't want to leave when the masters are here.

Akkol regretted that he used alcohol, saying, yapt I did wrong because I used alcohol, but God Almighty saw this punishment. He gave it to the mosque so we could get a little wise. That's right, too. We always have faith in our creator. I hope we never get caught up in something like this again. It was better for us, it was granted to us here, it was granted to us to receive this reward, he said.

Akkol explained that he made all his efforts and tried to earn good by serving. He concluded: “Alcohol is never a profit but a loss. I was in the emptiness at the time, but I've left now, thank God. I pray, I sit here with the teacher, we chat. I hope I will continue from now on.”
