The '2nd Provincial Education Council' organized by the Ankara Branch of the Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER) was held in Ankara, Sincan.
At the council, ÖĞ-DER President Hamdi Sürücü, ÖĞ-DER Vice President Mustafa Aydın, MEB Education Board Member Mehmet Baki Öztürk and Psychological Courses in Education Specialist Mahir Kılıçoğlu gave speeches, while teachers' problems and solutions were presented.
“HOW CAN A LAW WITH SO MUCH BE AN OCCUPATIONAL LAW?”
Speaking about the Teaching Profession Law, ÖĞ-DER Chairman Hamdi Sürücü stated that although the teaching profession is an important profession, the existing Teaching Profession Law in practice is insufficient in terms of content.
"All professions have laws, but teachers do not. Rules about teaching are everywhere, but nothing. Teachers have been waiting for 60 years. In 2021, a bill was hastily passed. Today, there is no teaching profession in this law, which was enacted in January 2022 as the Teaching Profession Law No. 7354. Many buildings are in the regulations, but we want to get rid of the regulations and have a solid structure. How can a law that contains so much nothing become a Teaching Profession Law?" Sürücü asked.
“THE REDUCTION OF THE TEACHING PROFESSIONAL LAW TO THIS LEVEL IS CONSEQUENCE”
Stating that the current Law on the Teaching Profession is to make fun of people and the profession, ÖĞ-DER Deputy Chairman Mustafa Aydın pointed out that it is not possible to correct it in time.
"In this law, there are candidate teachers, specialists and head teachers and 3600 additional indicators, but it should have been a law covering all areas from teacher training to teacher appointment," he said.
“INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES DESTROY HUMAN'S COORDINATES”
Mentioning the changes in life with the pandemic, Mehmet Baki Öztürk, Member of the Board of Education and Discipline of the Ministry of Education, pointed out that the uncontrolled use of information technologies causes loss of time and space in people.
"Humanity actually changes scissors every 200-300 years and takes turns. The people living in these places at that time are not aware of what exactly happened. These information technologies destroy two emotions in people, one is the perception and feeling of time, and the other is the perception and feeling of space. In other words, it destroys the coordinates of the human. The cure is in our own roots," he said.
Mahir Kılıçoğlu, Specialist of Psychological Courses in Education, pointed out that with the 12-year compulsory education implemented in education, the orientation of young people and vocational education went backwards, and stated that the majority of what was planned with the 4+4+4 system was not implemented.
