Anatolian Youth Association (AGD) organized a 3-day Youth Summit in Şanlıurfa with the title “Youth’s Search for Meaning”. The program was met with intense interest from the citizens, together with the representatives of NGOs. At the summit, many issues related to the problems and solution proposals concerning the youth were discussed. Maşuk Özyaramış, Head of AGD Şanlıurfa Branch, who made the opening speech of the summit, called for the youth to be protected.
While AGD-National Youth Foundation (MGV) Chairman Salih Turhan also attended the summit, Prof. Dr. Halis Aydemir gave his speech titled “Youth’s Search for Meaning”, Assoc. Dr. Necmettin Çalışkan “The Problem of Paradigm”, Assoc. Dr. M.Cevat Acar “Youth in the Spiral of Popular Culture”, Dr. M.Emin Çiftçi "Young Role Model Identity in the Qur'an", Assoc. Dr. Ziya Polat "Global Organizations and Youth", Expert Halil Atlı “21st Century Competencies and Youth”.
“WE CAN SOLVE THIS CRISIS WITH OUR CIVILIZATION DYNAMICS”
Making statements about the youth summit, AGD General President Salih Turhan pointed out the problems faced by young people. In the continuation of the statement, which stated that the Islamic civilization was affected by the developments in the West, Turhan said, “When we think in the context of the youth's search for meaning, we believe that we can offer solutions to current problems based on our own civilization dynamics by understanding the emerging crisis correctly. In this context, as the Anatolian Youth Association, one of the most rooted youth organizations of our country, we decided to organize a 'Youth Summit' in Şanlıurfa, which will become traditional with the sensitivity of not being insensitive to current problems. We have determined the theme of our summit this year as 'Youth’s Search for Meaning'. With this planned summit, it is aimed to guide all young people in search of meaning. As a result, the report and action plan prepared in the light of the findings and information obtained are shared with all relevant institutions and organizations, and it is aimed to create a projection for our institutions on youth policies.”
