After Turkey's high volume statements of operation against terrorist formations in Syria in recent days, Russia made a remarkable demand. Moscow justified Turkey's security concerns and demanded the placement of the Syrian army on the Syrian border line instead of a possible operation.
MOSCOW UNDERSTANDS ANKARA BUT DOES NOT WANT OPERATION
Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova stated that they understand Turkey's aim to put an end to the terrorist formations on the Syrian border in order to ensure its national security, but they hope that Ankara will not engage in actions that will complicate the current situation in Syria. The spokesperson noted that the problem can only be solved by deploying Syrian soldiers to the region.
ASSOCIATING TURKEY TO INVADER IN A INDIRECT WAY
The following words of the Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs attracted more attention. Spokeperson, who almost ignored the presence of the Russian army in a large part of Syria for years, said that Turkey's possible operation would violate Syria's territorial integrity. Spokesperson Zakharova said, "Such a step to be taken without the consent of the legitimate government of the Syrian Arab Republic will be a direct violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and will lead to a further increase in tension in Syria."
