Last week was full of hikes. First, motor vehicle tax (MTV) was doubled, and then serious hikes were made to the Value Added Tax items of many products. The share of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek on his social media account yesterday also meant the explanation of the reasons for the price hikes during the week.
"We will restore fiscal discipline, we will bring the budget deficit under control," Şimşek said.
With this statement, Şimşek declared that "discipline has deteriorated" and "budget deficit is out of control".
