The number of millionaires settled domestically increased by 40,220 in 2019 compared to the end of the previous year to 202,020. In the same period, the total deposits of millionaires increased by 271.1 billion lira to 1 trillion 295 billion lira. As of the end of last year, 574 billion 264 million TL of the deposits of millionaires consisted of local currency, 707 billion 724 million TL of foreign currency deposits and 13 billion 136 million TL of precious metal deposit accounts. The average deposits per million million residents in the country were calculated as 6 million 411 thousand lira.
5 thousand people were added to the number of millionaires resident abroad
According to the BRSA data, the number of depositors residing abroad rose to 23,420 as of the end of 2019. While the number of millionaires abroad has increased by 5,094 compared to the end of 2018, the amount of money in their accounts has been calculated as 96 billion 472 million pounds. The deposits of depositors located abroad consisted of 10 billion 622 million TL of local currency, 85 billion 352 million TL of foreign currency and 497 million TL of precious metal deposit accounts. Average deposits per million million resident abroad were calculated as 4 million 119 thousand liras.
