Bazaar-markets are the fire places. The bread on the table of the poor is 5 liras, there is no need to say anything else. The presidents of the associations say, “We have fallen into the spiral of inflation-currency-interest, we are struggling”.

While even the official inflation figures, which were suppressed and criticized, hover around 80 percent, the inflation we see on the market shelves and on the market stalls is several times the announced figures.

Citizens are in the midst of an unprecedented economic crisis. In summary, the poor are getting poorer day by day.

Complaints started to rise from Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD), which constitutes the richest part of our country.

"We can't even predict the short-term, let alone the long-term... The interest announced by the Central Bank and the interest in practice have been separated from each other."

TÜSİAD President Orhan Turan stated that the biggest problem in our country is high inflation.

"On the one hand, we have difficulty in predicting the short-term, let alone making long-term plans. These conditions also limit the opportunity to invest. Despite such a decline in interest rates, the real sector has difficulty in finding funds," Turan said.

"REAL SECTOR IS HAVING DIFFICULTY TO FIND LOAN"

Support for the criticism that the interest rate cut is only on paper came from TÜSİAD President Turan. Turan said that the link between the Central Bank interest and loan rates was broken, and that the real sector had difficulty in finding loans.

“We are facing a significant loss of welfare and an increase in inflation in our economy in the last period”

Continuing his speech, Turan made evaluations about the economy and said following words:

"As we all know, we are faced with a significant loss of welfare and an increase in inflation in our economy in the last period. An economy with high inflation does not give any stakeholder; It does not benefit the households, the real sector, or the financial sector. The severe decline in the purchasing power of households spreads to the entire economy over time. It causes very long and difficult economic periods in which growth cannot be sustained properly."
